Preface
After the division of Nagpur Agricultural Produce Market Committee, the Hingna Market Committee was newly established on 06/05/2006 under the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Purchase and Sale (Regulation) Act 1963 and is in its twentieth year. The committee has succeeded in creating its image as an efficient market committee with all the facilities for the farmers.
The scope of the committee is limited to the entire Hingna taluka and includes 1566 villages. After the division of the committee, the Hingna Market Committee has been provided with 1.62 hectares of land at Hingna (Wanadongri) and 1.53 hectares of land at Sawangi (Asola). Currently, wholesale fruits and vegetables and retail fruits and vegetables markets, cattle markets and grain markets are held at Hingna Market Yard, and cattle markets are held at the sub-market Sawangi (Asola).
The committee has notified cotton, soybean, tur, urad, moong, jowar, wheat, sunflower, gram, linseed, groundnut, rice, chilli, chickpea, radish, guava, orange, mango, lemon, banana, pomegranate, watermelon, cabbage, brinjal, potato, onion, chickpea, fenugreek, carrot, paddy and cattle under the rules.
